Sensitive Data

Stitching in Colour does NOT collect any sensitive data, such as race, ethnicity, religion/philosophical beliefs, political affiliations, sexual orientation, or genetic/biometric data.

Google Analytics

Currently, I do use Google Analytics (GA) on this site. And consequently, GA does stores cookies on your computer or device that collect a modest amount of data.

Because the security of your private data is serious business, GA has been set to anonymize your IP address. This means that GA does NOT collect any data that can personally identify you.

To improve your experience here and to create content that serves you, any data I collect is used strictly to provide me with the following data:

  • Where my visitors are located geographically generally, based on anonymized IP address;
  • Whether my visitors used a search engine or social media to find my site;
  • Whether my visitors using a desktop computer or a mobile device;
  • How long my visitors stick around to enjoy my content or if they just bounce; and
  • Which posts my visitors adore the  most.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that Google Analytics (GA) has their own privacy policies, which I have no control over. Please click HERE to learn what they are.

Leaving Comments

When you post a comment, WordPress does NOT retain your name, email, and website URL in your browser. However, I do believe it does temporarily store a cookie on your computer if your browser allows it. But that cookie is deleted when you close your browser.

This means that each time you want to post a comment, the name, email, and website fields will NOT automatically populate even if you’ve previously posted a comment on this site.

If you would like the convenience of not having to re-enter your personal information each time you post a comment, you must actively click the check box next to “Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.” located above the Post Comment button. This will give WordPress permission to save a cookie to your computer or device until the next time you clear your browser’s cache.

When you choose to leave a comment, your name and email address are used for ONE purpose only: that I can reply to your comments and keep the conversation going.

I would NEVER misuse your contact information; but if you wish to anonymously leave a comment, please do NOT leave your last name or website URL.

If you wish, you can select the “subscribe to comment” check box below your comment to receive emails when anyone replies to your comment.  Your email address will NOT be shared with other commenters.

Contact Form

Currently, I use the WPForms Lite plug-in on this site. Click HERE to learn their privacy policy.

When you choose to leave your first name and email address in the contact form on this site, your contact information is used for ONE purpose only: that I can reply to you personally and privately.

Email Address Policy

You hate Spam. I hate Spam. We all hate Spam.

Stitching in Colour collects first name and/or email addresses for comments and if you voluntarily opt-in for a freebie or my newsletter.

And if you do me the honor of sharing your email address with me for comments, for a freebie, or for a newsletter subscription, I wouldn’t dream of selling your personal data to anyone for any reason! Because that would be slimy!

However, if you wish to be deleted from my email list, I will honor your request immediately.

Plus, I promise only to send you helpful emails (no fluff!) and at a reasonable frequency.

Email Service Provider: Convertkit

I use Convertkit as my email service provider (ESP) to deliver my content straight into your email inbox.

They are committed to protecting our privacy. Click HERE to read their privacy policy.

Embedded Content

In order to provide you with richer content, I occasionally embed links to videos, images, and articles from external sites on Stitching in Colour. This embedded content acts in the same as if you actually visited that site.

And these sites may collect data about you and/or use cookies to track and monitor how you interact with the embedded content. This is beyond my control.

Site Security

This site is powered by WordPress.org. WordPress.org is GDPR-compliant. By default, WordPress.org does NOT collect any personal data about you or your visit to this site.

I keep WordPress and all plug-ins on this site updated to the latest versions. And I’ve also have implemented a security plug-in to prevent site breaches.

In the event of a meaningful site breach, you will be contacted by email within 72 hours.

Younger Audiences

This site is NOT intended for younger audiences. Because I am not above using the occasional colourful language to make a point.

Commenting Policy

You’re a unique snowflake. I’m a unique snowflake. We’re all unique snowflakes. So naturally, we aren’t always going to agree.

Sewing and creating should be massive fun, so be cool. You can express your opinions. But do so nicely and with civility.

If you’re abusive, I’ll delete your comment and blacklist you.

Also, there is no need to leave a link to your site in the comment section. Instead, just add your domain to the “Website” field of your comment, and your name will automatically link to it.

Unbiased Content

I would NEVER accept compensation for a positive review. Because to do so would be slimy and gross! If I like a product, I will tell you so. And if hate a product, I will tell you so.

Every single word written on this site is my truth at the time it was published. And if something changes my mind, I will update the content to reflect my current position.

I’ve sweated and agonized over each and every word on my blog. So I want you to enjoy them and, hopefully, be inspired.

BUT it’s not nice to plagiarize!

If you enjoy my point of view and would like to share my content, that’s fantastic! However, I ask that you honor the following three requirements:

  1. Share ONE photo.
  2. Link back to the original post — not my homepage.
  3. Finally, make sure that the credit is clearly visible.

And if you would like to pay me the supreme compliment of using my words, please use this contact form to ask for written permission! Thank you for understanding.

People Steal

People steal. I wish it wasn’t so. But it is. So I can’t be responsible if my content is stolen and distributed elsewhere.

Guest Posting

For now, this is my little corner of the Internet, so I don’t accept guest posts.

By hanging out with me here at Stitching in Colour, you are, in fact, saying yes to AND that you understand my site policies as stated here.

If you don’t feel comfortable with any of my policies, please don’t visit my site.
